The Trusted Tax Experts Network is a directory of tax partners built into the REPSLog dashboard. It lists CPA firms and cost segregation specialists that work with real estate investors, shows what each one does, and gives you a Book a Meeting button that opens their scheduling page. It is for investors tracking hours for REPS or the STR loophole who want a professional behind the strategy, and it is on iPhone, Android and the web app on every plan.

What it does

On the dashboard, below your hours and activity cards, a section headed “our tax experts” reads “Connect with our trusted partners for expert tax planning and strategies to maximize your savings.” Under it is a horizontal row of partner logos with the firm name beneath each. You scroll the row sideways on a phone; on the web app each logo highlights on hover.

Tapping a logo opens that partner’s profile page. A profile can contain:

  • The firm name, a location line such as “Nationwide”, and a short credentials line such as years of experience.

  • An embedded video introduction, when the firm has one.

  • A description of the firm in its own words.

  • Specialties: across the current partners these include Real Estate Professional Status, the Short-Term Rental Loophole, cost segregation studies, entity arrangements, tax planning, audit-proof record keeping and IRS audit defense.

  • Service Offerings: tax preparation and planning, bookkeeping and payroll, entity formation, engineered cost segregation studies, Form 3115 preparation and audit support are typical entries.

  • Meet the Team: headshots with name and role.

  • What Sets us Apart, a Clients line, Testimonials from named clients, and Case Studies that open as links.

  • A Book a Meeting button, pinned to the bottom on iPhone and Android and at the top of the right-hand column on the web app. It opens the partner’s own booking or contact page (a calendar, a contact form or a client intake page) in your browser.

The directory is curated by REPSLog, in an order REPSLog sets, and only active partners appear. At the time of writing there are seven firms, a mix of real estate CPA practices and cost segregation providers, all serving clients nationwide. The list is the same on every plan, including Free, and the same whether your property is set to long-term or short-term rental.

REPSLog does not sit between you and the firm. Booking, pricing and the engagement happen on the partner’s side. The app records only that you opened a profile or tapped Book a Meeting.

How it works

  1. Open REPSLog and go to the Dashboard tab (the Overview on the web app).

  2. Scroll down past your hours counter and activity cards to the section titled “our tax experts”.

  3. Swipe the row of logos sideways on a phone, or click on the web app, to open the firm you want to read about.

  4. Read the profile. Check Specialties and Service Offerings for the topics you need: REPS qualification, the STR loophole, a cost segregation study, bookkeeping, or audit defense.

  5. Scroll to Meet the Team, Testimonials and Case Studies to see who you would be working with.

  6. Tap Book a Meeting. Your browser opens the firm’s scheduling or contact page, and from there you are dealing directly with the firm.

  7. Use the back arrow on a phone to return to the dashboard. On the web app, use your browser’s back button.

Why it matters for your hours

REPSLog counts your hours against the 750-hour REPS test and the 500-hour and 100-hour material participation tests, but it cannot tell you whether you qualify. Whether an activity counts, whether to group your properties, whether the STR loophole applies, and whether a cost segregation study makes the resulting losses worth more are judgement calls for your CPA. The directory exists so that when you reach one of those questions, you can find a professional who already knows the terms you have been logging against, instead of explaining REPS to a generalist.

It also matters for audit defense. The hours in REPSLog are the record; a real estate CPA tells you what the record needs to show, and a cost segregation firm turns the depreciation side into an engineered report. Several listed partners name audit support as a service. Treat the directory as a starting point, not a recommendation for your situation, and talk to your CPA before you rely on any of it.

That is also why REPSLog does not lean on one person’s tax story. What a test requires is set by the IRS and read by a CPA, so the app is built around the practitioners who file these returns every year and shaped by the investors who use it: more than 180 App Store ratings at 4.9, and the Help Center they asked for.

If you are an Airbnb or Vrbo host using the STR loophole, REPSLog gives you a 100-hour counter per short-term rental by default, a per-property breakdown with a combined total, and a participant breakdown showing whether a cleaner, co-host or manager logged more hours than you at each listing. The directory is where that record goes next: several partners list the Short-Term Rental Loophole as a specialty, and the cost segregation providers list their study types, so you can ask whether they cover a short-term rental. Whether your average stay qualifies, whether to group listings toward 500 hours, and which test to rely on are questions for that CPA.

Good to know

  • Available on every plan, Free, Starter and Premium, and during the trial.

  • Works on iPhone, Android and the web app. The profile is a single column on a phone and two columns on the web app, with the same content.

  • There is no search or filter. Each profile lists its specialties so you can compare; an Airbnb or Vrbo host should look for the Short-Term Rental Loophole there.

  • Book a Meeting leaves the app. The partner handles scheduling, pricing and any engagement.

  • Nothing from your log is sent when you open a profile or book a meeting. The app records only which profiles and booking buttons were tapped.

  • The list changes as partners join or leave. A firm you saw last year may not be there today.

  • Managed-account users (someone invited to your account) see the same section.

  • Accounts that signed up through a tax firm’s own link may have the section hidden.

  • Listing a firm is not tax advice, and REPSLog is not a tax adviser. Your CPA decides what applies to you.

Frequently asked questions

Can I find a cost segregation company in REPSLog?

Yes. Several partners in the Trusted Tax Experts Network are cost segregation specialists, and their profiles list the study types they offer and whether they provide audit support.

Yes. The “our tax experts” section appears on the dashboard on every plan, including Free, on iPhone, Android and the web app.

It is a shortlist rather than a search: firms that already work with real estate investors on REPS, the STR loophole and cost segregation, listed inside the app with a direct way to reach them.
