The REPSLog iPhone, Android and web app give you one hour log you can reach from any device. Log an entry on your phone while you are at the property, then review, edit and export the same log from a laptop at your desk. It is built for real estate investors tracking hours for REPS or the STR loophole, and it runs on iPhone, Android and in your browser at app.reps-log.com.
What it does
REPSLog is one account with three front doors. The iPhone app is on the App Store, the Android app is on Google Play, and the web app lives at app.reps-log.com. You sign in with the same email on each, and every entry, property, category, participant and setting is the same everywhere.
Sync is automatic. The dashboard, the entry log and the hour counters listen for changes as they happen, so an entry you save on your phone shows up on the web app within seconds while both are online. There is no sync button and nothing to refresh.
The web app has the same core screens as the phone apps: Overview (your dashboard and hour counters), Entries, Add, Calendar, Properties and Settings, laid out in a sidebar for a larger screen. Adding an entry on the web opens the entry form as a window over your entry list. Voice logging works in the browser too, using your computer’s microphone.
Some features are tied to a platform. The built-in timer, Live Activity and quick actions from the app icon are on iPhone and Android only; on the web you enter durations directly. CSV import (Settings, Import Past Data) is on the web app only, because it is easier to prepare a spreadsheet on a computer. Push notification settings live in the phone apps.
The web app’s sidebar has a Download App button with a QR code and store badges, so you can put the phone app on your device without searching the store. That button disappears once you have used the mobile app.
Improvements often arrive without a store update. When one is ready the app shows an “Update ready” banner; tap it to restart and pick it up.
REPSLog needs an internet connection. If you lose it, the app shows a “You’re Offline” screen until the connection is back. The screen sits on top of what you were doing, so a form you were filling in is still there when you reconnect.
How it works
Create your account once, on whichever device is handy. Go to app.reps-log.com/createAccount in a browser, or install the app from the App Store or Google Play and tap Continue on the sign-in screen.
Sign in with the same email on your other devices. Google, Apple (iPhone and web), passkeys, magic links and passwords all point at the same account.
Add your properties and log your first entry on any device. On the phone tap + Add; on the web use Add in the sidebar, which opens the entry form over your list.
Open another device. The entry is already there, and the hour counters on the Overview screen already include it.
On the web app, tap Download App in the sidebar to scan a QR code and install the phone app.
When you see the “Update ready” banner, tap it to restart with the latest version.
Why it matters for your hours
The IRS expects contemporaneous records for REPS and material participation. That is much easier when the log is in your pocket at the property, in the car after a showing, or on your desk while you go through receipts. A single synced log means the hours you tap in on your phone are the same hours your CPA sees in the export at year end, with no copying between devices and no two versions to reconcile.
Working across devices also fits how the work actually happens. Field time gets logged on the phone with the timer or by voice. Bookkeeping, calendar review and cleanup happen on the web where you have a bigger screen and a keyboard. Whether you are chasing the 750-hour test, the 500-hour or 100-hour material participation tests, or the STR loophole, your CPA gets one log. Ask them how they want it delivered.
Short-term rental hosts using the STR loophole get the most out of the split. That test is per property, 100 hours in each short-term rental by default and more than anyone else who worked on it, so a turnover is worth logging the moment it happens. Log it from your phone at the property, with the cleaner or co-host recorded as a participant, then open the web app that evening and check the property’s hours / 100 row on the STR dashboard. Several short-term rentals get a per-property breakdown and a combined total; your CPA can say whether grouping toward 500 hours suits you better.

Is there a REPSLog desktop app?
REPSLog runs on desktop in your browser at app.reps-log.com. There is nothing to install. It is the same account and the same log as the phone apps.
Does REPSLog sync between my phone and computer?
Yes. Every entry, property and setting is synced automatically. A change on one device shows up on the others within seconds while they are online.
Can I use REPSLog on both iPhone and Android?
