REPSLog Sign-in Options let you open your hour log the way you prefer: a passkey with Face ID, Touch ID or your device unlock, a one-time magic link by email, Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, or an optional password. Every option opens the same account, so a real estate investor tracking REPS or STR loophole hours can sign in on iPhone, Android and the web app at app.reps-log.com.
What it does
The sign-in screen is email first. Type your email, tap Continue, and REPSLog picks the next step for your account: a passkey prompt if you have one, a Password field if your account uses a password, otherwise a magic link by email.
A magic link is a one-time sign-in link sent to your inbox. The screen reads “Check your inbox” and notes that the link expires in 15 minutes and can only be used once. There is no separate create-account step: the same flow signs you in or creates the account. If the email does not arrive, tap Resend link (30-second countdown) or Use a different email. An old or used link shows a “Link expired” screen with Back to sign in.
A passkey replaces the email round trip. It is stored on your device and syncs through iCloud Keychain on iPhone or Google Password Manager on Android, so it follows you to a new phone. REPSLog offers to add one from a “Sign in faster with a passkey” card on the dashboard, a banner at the top of Settings, and the Passkeys page under Settings, which lists every passkey with the date it was added and last used, has a trash icon to remove one, and an Add a passkey button. If you cancel the prompt you get two buttons: Use passkey and Email me a sign-in link instead.
Continue with Google is on every platform. Continue with Apple is on iPhone and the web app. Accounts that only use Google or Apple do not see the passkey or password options, because those sign-ins are already one tap.
Password sign-in is optional and enabled per account. When it is on for yours, Settings shows a Sign in with password toggle. Turning it on opens a Set a password window: tap Send code to my email, enter the 6-digit code, and choose a password of at least 8 characters. A Change password row appears once a password exists; the emailed code is the security check, so you never need the old password.
You can also change your account email yourself from Settings, Change Email Address. The change is confirmed from both inboxes, old and new, the links last 24 hours, and you are signed out on all devices when it lands.
How it works
Open REPSLog on iPhone, Android or at app.reps-log.com/signIn.
Tap Continue with Google (or Continue with Apple on iPhone and the web), or type your email and tap Continue.
If your account has a passkey, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your device unlock. You land on your dashboard.
If your account uses a password, enter it and tap Sign in, or tap “Email me a sign-in link” instead.
Otherwise open the “Sign in to REPSLog” email and tap Sign in. Open it on the device you want to use, because it signs in whichever device opens it.
After a magic-link sign-in you may see “Use Face ID next time?”. Tap Add passkey, or Maybe later.

Why it matters for your hours
A contemporaneous log only works if you open it when the work happens: after a showing, at the hardware store, on the way back from a turnover. A sign-in that takes a face scan instead of a hunt through your inbox removes the friction that makes people log later from memory, which is exactly what an auditor questions.
The same options mean you are never locked out of your own records at tax time. Lose your phone and the passkey follows through your keychain; forget a password and a magic link still works; move the account to a new email without contacting anyone. Your CPA gets the export either way, but the log has to exist first.
For a short-term rental host using the STR loophole, friction matters more, because the test is per property: 100 hours in each short-term rental by default, and more than the cleaner, co-host or manager whose hours you log as participants. A turnover logged from the driveway with Face ID is a dated entry against that property; the same turnover logged next week from memory is what an auditor questions. Every sign-in option opens the same account on every device, so the entry you make on site is on the STR dashboard’s per-property hours / 100 row when you reach a computer. Which test to rely on is your CPA’s decision.

Passkeys work on iPhone (iOS 16 or newer), Android (Android 9 or newer) and the web app. A device that cannot use them shows a note on the Passkeys page.
Magic links expire after 15 minutes and work once. Resend has a 30-second cooldown, and too many requests in a short time shows “Too many sign-in attempts. Please wait a few minutes.”
Continue with Apple is offered on iPhone and the web app, not on Android. Continue with Google is on all three.
Google and Apple accounts do not see the passkey or password options. Those sign-ins are already one tap.
An Airbnb or Vrbo host who logs turnovers on site can add a passkey once and skip the inbox on every later sign-in.
Password sign-in is rolled out per account. If you do not see the Sign in with password toggle in Settings, it is not enabled for yours yet. Passwords are at least 8 characters; the 6-digit code expires after about 5 minutes and only a few can be requested per hour.
Changing your email signs you out everywhere and removes Google or Apple sign-in from the account. Set a password first or be ready for a magic link at the new address. An Apple private relay address cannot become your account email.
Frequently asked questions
Does REPSLog have a password?
Only if you want one. By default REPSLog signs you in with a magic link or a passkey. Where password sign-in is enabled for your account, turn on Sign in with password in Settings.
Can I sign in to REPSLog with Face ID?
Yes. Add a passkey from the dashboard card, the Settings banner, or Settings, Passkeys. Next time you enter your email and tap Continue, your device asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your device unlock.
What is a magic link in REPSLog?
A one-time sign-in link sent to your email. It expires after 15 minutes, works once, and signs in whichever device opens it.
I forgot my REPSLog password. What do I do?
Enter your email and tap “Email me a sign-in link”. Once you are in, open Settings and use Change password. The old password is never needed.
Can I change the email on my REPSLog account?
Yes, from Settings, Change Email Address. You confirm from the old inbox and then the new one, and you are signed out on all devices when it completes.
Can I sign in quickly at a short-term rental to log a turnover?
Yes. With a passkey, enter your email and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your device unlock; there is no email to open. The entry is dated and tied to the property the moment you save it, ready for the STR loophole’s per-property count.
Is a passkey a good alternative to a password for REPSLog?
Yes. A passkey signs you in with Face ID, Touch ID or your device lock and cannot be phished or reused. Magic links, passwords, Google and Apple sign-in remain available if you prefer them.
