The Claude Integration adds REPSLog as a connector in Claude, so you can ask Claude to log a time entry, list your properties or summarize your hours and it talks to your REPSLog account for you. It is for real estate investors tracking hours for REPS or the STR loophole who work in Claude and want their log to keep up. Entries created in Claude appear in REPSLog on iPhone, Android and the web app, next to the ones you type yourself.
What it does
REPSLog connects to Claude as a custom connector. You add one address in Claude’s connector settings, sign in with your REPSLog account, and Claude gains a fixed set of tools for your log. It can create, update and delete a time log; list your time logs filtered by date range, property, category or STR / LTR; and get an hours summary, a breakdown, your goal progress, your dashboard figures and flexible stats. It can list your properties, categories and participants, and read two account settings (your property type and whether international properties are on).
The tools are deliberately limited. Claude cannot create, rename or delete properties, categories or participants; when a prompt asks for that, it points you to the app. Editing and deleting entries are allowed, and deleting is permanent, so Claude is instructed to be specific about which entry you mean.
Sign-in happens on a REPSLog page, not inside Claude. REPSLog never shares your password with Claude; the assistant only receives permission to act on your account, and you can remove it at any time from Claude’s connector list. The same sign-in serves the ChatGPT connector, so one REPSLog account covers both, and each assistant is connected and disconnected separately.
Every entry Claude creates is saved with a source of Claude. REPSLog keeps that with the entry so you can tell which records came from the assistant and which came from the app or from ChatGPT.
Premium is checked on every request, not only when you connect. If the subscription lapses, the connector stops working until it is renewed, and your existing entries are untouched.
How it works
Make sure you are on REPSLog Premium (Settings, then Subscription in the app) and that your Claude plan supports custom connectors.
Open Claude in a browser or the desktop app. Go to Settings, then Connectors, and select Add custom connector.
Give it a name such as REPSLog and paste the address
https://api.reps-log.com/api/mcpin the URL field. Select Add.A REPSLog sign-in window opens. Enter the email and password (or sign-in method) you use in the app and confirm. You may be asked to allow Claude to access your REPSLog data.
Back in Settings, then Connectors, REPSLog shows as connected.
Start a chat and try: “Log 2 hours of work on the Maple Street property today under Repairs and maintenance.” Claude resolves the property and category against your real list, creates the entry and confirms it.
Ask “How many REPS hours have I logged this month?” or “Show my time logs for the Oak Avenue property in May” to read your log back. Pull to refresh in the app to see new entries.
To disconnect, open Settings, then Connectors in Claude, select REPSLog and choose Remove. Your data and existing entries stay as they are.
Why it matters for your hours
A log that is easy to write to gets written to. If you spend your working day in Claude planning a renovation, drafting a lease or answering guest messages, “Log 45 minutes on the tenant call for Birch Lane this morning” turns that work into a dated, property-tagged entry the moment you finish it. That is what the IRS means by a contemporaneous record, and it is much harder to reconstruct from memory in March.
Reading the log back matters just as much. A question like “How many material participation hours have I logged this year?” or “Summarize my STR hours by property for Q1” gives you your position against the 750-hour test, the 500-hour test or the 100-hour test without opening a report. Your CPA still decides which test applies to you; the integration keeps the number close.
For a short-term rental host using the STR loophole, Claude is a fast way to log the work around a stay while it is fresh. Say “Log 2 hours of turnover at the lake house today” and Claude matches the lake house to your property, inherits its STR type and saves the entry toward that property’s hours / 100 row. Ask for a breakdown by property limited to short-term rentals and the cabin and the condo come back as separate totals. Entries logged through Claude can only be performed by you or your spouse, so the cleaner’s or co-host’s hours, which the 100-hour test compares against yours, still go in through the app with them as the participant.
Good to know
Premium only for the REPSLog side. Your Claude plan also needs to support custom connectors; if you do not see the option under Settings, then Connectors, check your Claude plan.
Works with entries on iPhone, Android and the web app, because the entries live in your REPSLog account.
The REPSLog data Claude reads leaves REPSLog and goes to the assistant’s provider under that provider’s terms. Turning the connection on is your choice; removing the connector revokes access immediately.
Claude can change and delete entries, not only read them. Treat the connection the way you would treat giving someone your login, and disconnect it if you stop using it.
Properties, categories and participants are read only through Claude. Create or edit them in the app.
A new entry needs a property that already exists, a description, and a duration between 1 minute and 24 hours. Date defaults to today; participant can be self or spouse. STR or LTR is taken from the property, so an entry at an Airbnb or Vrbo listing you marked Short Term Rental counts on the STR view automatically.
Requests are limited to 60 per minute per account.
The connector address is the same one ChatGPT uses, and one REPSLog sign-in covers both assistants.
Deleting your REPSLog account removes the connection. It cannot recall data the provider already received.
Frequently asked questions
Does REPSLog work with Claude?
Yes. Add REPSLog as a custom connector in Claude with the address https://api.reps-log.com/api/mcp, sign in with your REPSLog account, and Claude can log and review your REPS hours. It is a Premium feature.
Can Claude log my REPS hours?
Yes. Say what you did, where and for how long, and Claude creates the entry in your REPSLog account. It confirms when the entry is saved.
Does Claude get my REPSLog password?
No. You sign in on a REPSLog page. Claude receives permission to act on your account, which you can revoke by removing the connector.
Do I need Premium to connect Claude?
Yes. Free and Starter accounts cannot use the connector, and Premium is checked on every request.
Can I connect both Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes. The same REPSLog account and the same connector address serve both. Each assistant is connected separately, so removing one does not affect the other.
My entry from Claude is not in the app. What do I check?
Pull to refresh in REPSLog. Then confirm Claude actually replied with a confirmation; if it did not, the entry was not created.
Can Claude show my STR loophole hours per property?
Yes. Ask for a breakdown by property limited to short-term rentals and Claude returns each property’s total for the year or date range you name. The hours / 100 bar itself lives on the STR view of the dashboard in the app.
Is Claude a good alternative to the app for reviewing my hours?
For questions, yes: ask Claude where you stand on the 750 or 100-hour test, which property is behind, or what you logged last week, and it reads your live log. Editing and evidence still happen in the app.
