Calendar Integration reads the calendar you already keep, the Calendar app on your phone or a connected Google or Microsoft account, and shows those events inside REPSLog so you can turn each one into a logged entry with the title, duration, description and property filled in. It is for real estate investors tracking hours for REPS or the STR loophole who already put showings, contractor visits and property meetings on a calendar. It runs on iPhone, Android and the web app.
What it does
REPSLog can read your calendar in two ways, and you can use both at once.
Your device calendar (phone only). On iPhone, REPSLog reads the Calendar app through the permission you grant. If you use Google Calendar, Outlook or Exchange, sync that account with Apple Calendar in your iPhone settings first. On Android, REPSLog reads the phone’s calendar (Google Calendar). Nothing leaves your device unless you turn an event into an entry.
A connected Google or Microsoft account (phone and web). Tap Connect Google Account or Connect Microsoft Account, sign in, and REPSLog fetches your events whenever you open the calendar. This is the only option on the web app, where a Calendar item appears in the sidebar once an account is connected. You can connect more than one account.
The Calendar page. Events show in a weekly layout by default. On the phone, use the arrows to move between weeks or drag the expand handle down for a monthly view. On the web, switch between month, week, day and list views. The gear icon opens Calendars to Show, where you tick which calendars REPSLog pulls events from.
Recent Calendar Events on the Overview. The dashboard card lists up to five unlogged events from the last 30 days, with a View All Calendar Events button. Once an event becomes an entry it drops off the list.
One event, one entry. Select an event and REPSLog opens the entry form prefilled with the event name, description, duration and property, matched automatically when the event’s location is one of your property addresses. Review, edit, save.
Many events, one action. Select several past events and tap Add N entries. If some have no property, REPSLog asks: Assign all to one property, Assign individually, or mark them all Unassigned STR or Unassigned LTR. The entries are written in one go and a toast confirms “Entries added”.
Disconnecting. From the Calendar page menu, choose Disconnect Device Calendar, or Manage Accounts then Disconnect for a Google or Microsoft account. Deleting your REPSLog account disconnects everything.
How it works
On the phone, tap Sync My Calendar under Recent Calendar Events on the Overview, or open Settings > Calendar Integration (also the route on the web app).
Tap Enable Device Calendar and allow full access when prompted (phone only), or tap Connect Google Account or Connect Microsoft Account and sign in.
Tap the gear icon and pick which calendars to show. A calendar kept just for real estate work keeps it short.
Open the Calendar page. Past events are ready to log; future events are shown but cannot be added yet.
Tap one event to open the prefilled entry form, review and save. Or select several past events, tap Add N entries, and answer the property prompt if needed.
The new entries appear in your log and dashboard totals; the events are marked as added.
Why it matters for your hours
The IRS expects contemporaneous records, and a calendar is often the most contemporaneous record an investor has. A showing, a contractor walkthrough or a call with a property manager was scheduled before it happened and sat on your calendar with a time and a place. Calendar Integration turns that record into a REPSLog entry with the date, duration and property carried over, so the entry matches the calendar instead of memory months later.
For the 750-hour REPS test and the 500-hour or 100-hour material participation tests, that consistency is what an audit looks for: hours that line up with other evidence. Log events as they pass and the totals your CPA needs at year end are already built. What counts toward each test is for your CPA to say; REPSLog makes sure the record is there.
For an Airbnb or Vrbo host using the STR loophole, the test is 100 hours per property, with no one else, including a cleaner, co-host or manager, putting in more than you. The calendar you already keep holds that evidence: the turnover blocked out after a checkout, the supply run, the call with the co-host. Turn those events into entries and the hours land on that property’s x / 100 row, with the property matched from the event’s address. When you bulk-add events that have no property, choose Unassigned STR so they stay on the STR side until you assign them. Guest stays themselves come from Booking Calendar Sync.
Good to know
Premium. Connecting a Google or Microsoft account and adding calendar events as entries require Premium or an active free trial.
Platforms. The device calendar is phone only. Google and Microsoft accounts work on iPhone, Android and the web app.
Past events only. A future event is visible but cannot become an entry until the day has passed.
Privacy, device calendar. Events are read on the phone and not sent to REPSLog unless you turn one into an entry.
Privacy, connected accounts. REPSLog holds an encrypted credential to fetch your events when you open the calendar; the events are not stored. Turning off the calendar permission on your phone does not disconnect a Google or Microsoft account. Use Manage Accounts, or remove REPSLog from the connected apps page at Google or Microsoft.
Property matching. When an event’s location matches one of your property addresses, the entry gets that property automatically. Otherwise you pick one when you save.
No auto-update. Changing a calendar event after logging it does not change the REPSLog entry. Edit the entry in your log.
Sync delays. New events can take an hour or two to appear because of Apple or Google sync. Fully close and reopen REPSLog if one is missing.
Works with booking calendars. Guest stays from Booking Calendar Sync appear on the same calendar, so a short-term rental host sees stays and turnover appointments side by side.
Frequently asked questions
Does REPSLog sync with Google Calendar?
Yes. Tap Connect Google Account on the Calendar page and sign in. On iPhone you can also add Google to Apple Calendar and use the device calendar option.
Does REPSLog work with Outlook or Microsoft 365?
Yes. Tap Connect Microsoft Account and sign in. Your Outlook calendars appear in REPSLog on the phone and the web app.
Can I turn several calendar events into entries at once?
Yes. Select the past events, tap Add N entries, and choose how to assign any without a property. REPSLog writes them all in one step.
Can I add future calendar events as REPS hours?
No. Only past events can become entries, because an entry records work already done. Future events show on the calendar and can be added once the day has passed.
Does REPSLog store my calendar events?
No. With the device calendar, events stay on the phone. With a connected account, REPSLog fetches events when you open the calendar and stores only an encrypted credential.
Can I log my Airbnb turnover from a calendar event?
Yes. If the turnover is on your phone, Google or Microsoft calendar, tap the past event and REPSLog opens an entry prefilled with its title, duration and, when the location matches the property’s address, the property. Guest stays themselves come from Booking Calendar Sync.
Is REPSLog a good alternative to using Google Calendar as my REPS log?
Your calendar is where the plan lives; REPSLog is where the record lives. Connecting Google or Microsoft 365 turns the events you actually worked into entries with a property and category, which the calendar alone cannot prove.
